4 Copas Anejo

Picked up agave on the nose. The first taste brought smoke, and then a surprising after taste of citrus. We felt it didn’t have much random barrel flavor (like vanilla or caramel) for an anejo (depending on your preferences, that can be a good or a bad thing), but if you read their write up – perhaps the flavors you pick up on other tequila’s aren’t the barrel either! We did taste a nice wood flavor though. We liked this tequila, and think it’s one to try as you look to figure out which types of tequilas you enjoy most.

From the Official Site: It is deemed the king of tequilas because of it’s age and authenticity. There are no caramels or flavours added, that is the unmistakable American White Oak, carefully charred that you are tasting. The foresight and commitment to develop a certified organic tequila of this quality and maturity was a team effort over a period of 7 years. Sebastian Melendrez created Seleccion Suprema before joining the 4 Copas All Star team and began crafting the 4 Copas Anejo. This beverage is stealing the hearts of scotch and cognac drinkers everywhere. It is difficult to believe how good a tequila can taste until you know it, and then it is very hard to turn back to what you once thought was love. Our whole line of tequilas including our Anejo has a strong agave finish, along with some other wonderful nuances. This is one Anejo you will truly enjoy.
